The Charterhouse Learner's Portfolio

Our Learning Journey: Intellectual, ethical and spiritual growth

All students at Charterhouse will complete a Charterhouse Learner’s Portfolio (CLP). Using ‘Design Thinking’ and the Charterhouse WEAVE process students will use the CLP as the vehicle through which they will chart their intellectual, ethical and spiritual growth: their learning journey.

For personal growth to occur the development of the CLP must involve:

  • Real, purposeful activities, with significant outcomes
  • Personal challenge: tasks that extend the student but are achievable in scope
  • Thoughtful consideration, such as planning, reviewing progress, reporting
  • Reflection on outcomes and personal learning

Through the building of their Charterhouse Learner's Portfolio students will:

  • Become reflective thinkers: they will understand their own strengths and limitations, identify personal goals and devise strategies for personal growth
  • Be adventurous and courageous: willing to accept new challenges and new roles, often outside of their own comfort zone
  • Be aware of themselves as members of communities with responsibilities towards each other and the environment
  • Be active participants in sustained, collaborative projects
  • Find balance: they will enjoy and find significance in a range of activities involving intellectual, physical, creative, and emotional experiences.

  • Be ‘Future Ready’
